Prop Firm - Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the comprehensive FAQ for PropFirm.com, where we connect funded account providers with skilled traders.
What is PropFirm.com and how does it work?
We connect funded account providers with skilled traders. Traders manage live capital and profits are split based on pre-agreed ratios. No challenges. No entry fees.
Why is it free to join as a trader?
We don't profit from your failures. We only earn a small percentage (3%) from actual profits. If you don't make money, neither do we.
How does PropFirm.com generate revenue?
We take a 3% management fee from the trader's share of real profits. That's it—no sign-up fees, no hidden costs.
Do I need to deposit funds to PropFirm.com?
No. All funds are held in individually managed live trading accounts under the control of the funder. PropFirm.com never holds or pools client funds.
Can traders withdraw or access someone else's capital?
No. Traders can only execute trades. Only the account owner can deposit or withdraw funds.
How is the risk to the funded account managed?
Each account has a predefined max drawdown (e.g., 3–5%). If this is hit, trading is automatically halted to protect the investor.
Can people from any country join?
Yes. Since PropFirm.com manages and opens all live accounts directly, we do not impose any geographical restrictions on traders.
Do I need to submit a MyFXBook or track record to apply?
Not during registration. If selected for funding, we may request past performance to support the review process.
Who can become a Funded Account Provider?
Anyone—individuals or companies—who want to provide capital for skilled traders. No trading knowledge is required.
Who can become a trader?
Traders are selected based on skill, risk management, and performance, through a private screening process—no upfront payment or challenge needed.
Can traders and funders communicate directly?
No. To prevent bias, misuse, or fraud, all communication is strictly mediated and anonymous.
How are profits shared?
Profits are automatically split based on the predefined ratio (e.g., 70/30). The distribution is instant and system-controlled.
How is this different from challenge-based firms?
What happens if a trader loses money?
If the drawdown limit is reached, trading is paused automatically. No further losses can occur.
Where is PropFirm.com based?
Our headquarters is in Dubai. However, our team operates globally and remotely, with minimal reliance on physical offices.
Can I visit your office?
Yes, technically. But there's not much to see—no salespeople, no front desk. Just servers and traders doing real work. Instead, our trade managers often travel worldwide and may meet you directly upon request.
Can I manage multiple accounts as a funder?
Yes. You can open and manage multiple funded accounts independently.
How is this different from trading your own capital?
I've been scammed by challenge firms. Do you actually pay traders?
Yes. We pay traders from real profits, with no gimmicks or excuses. No conditions that invalidate payouts.
Are there any registration or subscription fees?
Traders join for free. Funded Account Providers pay $100/month (waived until end of 2025 if you join early).
Is PropFirm.com really tech-driven?
Yes. We use colocation, automated execution, and systemized allocation to reduce latency and human error. This is trading at scale and speed.
Why use crypto markets for UHFT?
Crypto allows low-latency, 24/7 access with fewer restrictions. Some strategies banned in traditional finance are possible here. It's fast, fluid, and perfect for UHFT.
Is PropFirm.com a scam?
No. We don't take your money upfront. We only earn when you do. Our model prevents any typical scam structure.
Where does the trading capital come from?
Either from private investors (Funded Account Providers) or PropFirm.com itself. Traders never have to pay.
How can you afford to pay traders if there are no signup fees?
Simple—we only pay from real profits. And we're also a trading firm ourselves, so we're invested in long-term trader success.
What happens if PropFirm.com goes out of business?
All funds are held in segregated live accounts. PropFirm.com never co-mingles or controls client capital, so risk is isolated.
Do all funders have individual accounts?
Yes. Every Funded Account Provider operates their own account. Funds are never pooled or shared.
Is there any risk in assigning capital to a trader?
No direct transfer occurs. Traders only signal trades; actual execution is handled securely within PropFirm.com's infrastructure.
Will others see my trading strategy or data?
No. Strategies remain confidential and visible only to our internal team and selected partners if necessary.
Can I withdraw funds whenever I want as a funder?
Yes. Since you hold the live account, you can withdraw at any time subject to broker procedures and agreements.
Do traders get performance bonuses or rewards?
Yes. Outstanding traders may receive merchandise, bonus capital, or ranking exposure on social media.
Are there rankings or performance leaderboards?
Yes. We publish monthly trader rankings via X.com to highlight consistency and performance.
Do you accept companies as funders or traders?
Absolutely. Both individuals and registered entities can participate.
Do I need to log in or create an account to register?
No platform account is required. You register via a form and start the review process directly.
Do you use automated execution or manual trading?
We prefer signal-based execution and automation. Manual execution is limited, as speed and structure are crucial.
Do you operate only from one location?
Not at all. We operate globally. Our systems run near liquidity centers, and our team is distributed.
How do you achieve ultra-high-frequency trading?
Details are proprietary, but we use colocation and algorithmic triggers. Speed matters—and our systems are optimized for it.
Why is crypto ideal for UHFT?
Our founder holds significant BTC and understands this market deeply. Crypto also allows for certain legal "grey area" strategies that aren't possible in traditional finance.
Are there any gray areas you actively pursue?
As traders ourselves, we believe in being first movers. When markets lack regulation, we move fast—but always stay within legal bounds.
